The teacher, who was diagnosed with colon cancer at an early stage, got rid of the mass in his intestines with surgery.

Dr. in Büyükçekmece Süleyman Topsakal, who has been the principal of Sadık Ahmet Primary School for 14 years, was referred to further examinations upon suspicion of cancer as a result of the blood test he had for his routine check-ups.

Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Topsakal, who applied to Murat Dilmener Hospital, was diagnosed with early stage colon cancer as a result of further examinations.

The cancerous mass in Topsakal’s intestines, whose surgery was performed upon the decision taken by the doctors, was successfully removed.

Talking about the process he went through with colon cancer, Topsakal said that he was very happy to get rid of the cancerous mass through surgery.

Topsakal explained that the fact that his surgery coincided with Teachers’ Day, which was a turning point in his life and related to his profession, had a special meaning for him.

Stating that he was worried when he learned about his illness, Topsakal said:

Finding healing on Teachers’ Day was a great celebration and a beautiful memory for me. Dr. Server Sezgin Uludağ noted that Süleyman Topsakal learned that he had cancer by chance when he applied to the doctor and said, “In the further examinations of the patient, we suggested a surgery for him after it was seen that these carcinogenic cells did not spread to a different place. The date of our surgery coincided with Teachers’ Day.” . As one of our teachers, I hope he found healing.” he said.

Stating that they talked in detail with Topsakal about the treatment process before the surgery, Uludağ explained that the surgery can be performed with open, closed and robotic surgery, and that as a center, they perform such surgeries in a qualified manner.

Stating that Topsakal, who has regained his health, is ready to be discharged, Uludağ said:

“Closed and robotic surgery have many advantages in this type of surgery. It offers advantages such as short-term hospital stay, less bleeding, and less infection.
