Food prices have increased drastically this year and inflation and high interest rates have hit Swedish households hard. It will above all be felt at this year’s Christmas table.
According to Stockholm Chamber of Commerce the price of a Christmas table for a family of four has risen by SEK 263, an increase of a whopping 38 percent over the past five years.
The general price level, on the other hand, has only increased by 23 percent.
News24 has previously written about Gröna Lund’s Christmas party at the restaurant Tyrol. The Christmas table serves over 200 delicacies and is according to Annika Troselius, information manager for Parks and Resorts, which owns Gröna Lund, one of Sweden’s best Christmas tables.
It costs at least SEK 995 for an adult to eat the Christmas table at Tyrol, which many guests reacted to and considered too expensive.

Therefore Gröna Lund’s Christmas table is expensive
In a comment to Nyheter24 has Annika Troselius explained why they priced their Christmas table the way they did.
– We understand that it costs a lot to go to a Christmas party today, but our goal is to be able to offer our guests one of Sweden’s absolute best Christmas parties, says Annika Troselius to Nyheter24 and continues:
– Our chefs work closely with local suppliers to source the finest raw materials of meat, fish, poultry and berries from the vast expanses of Norrland. The result is one of Sweden’s best and largest Christmas tables with seven traditional takes and over 200 delicacies and taste experiences.

Strong reactions to Ikea’s Christmas table
Another Christmas table that has received both praise and praise is Ikea’s.
Ikea posted a picture on its Facebook account announcing that its restaurants would serve Christmas dinners between November 19 and December 19.
Among the post’s comments, many were positive and expressed that they are looking forward to trying the Christmas table and that it will be good.
“Looking forward to this Christmas table”.
“Such a good Christmas table we’re coming! Shopping round and Christmas table! Neat Ikea”.
“It was so good”.
But there are also those in the comment section who thought the Christmas table last year was bad and feel disappointed. Others question the low price and quality, as the Christmas table only costs SEK 299 per adult, or SEK 199 for those who are Ikea members.
“Better than last year? Very unhappy then”.
“Agree, NOT happy last year”.
“Have heard several people who were not satisfied. So the question is whether it is worth the price even though it is cheap at SEK 199.”
“I agree with you, it’s really bad”.
“You judge without taste buds. The price is not everything”.
