“I’m definitely not coming back”: RTL boss couldn’t convince Raab
In an interview with Bild, the CEO of RTL Deutschland, Stephan Schmitter, revealed how difficult it was to inspire Stefan Raab to make a comeback. One of the biggest challenges was being an entertainer to get an appointment at all. They are in Cologne “met in a brewery”said the managing director. Schmitter explains how the meeting came about:

But Raab was not able to convince the conversation. “But There’s no way I’m coming back”said the entertainer at the end. This was of course sobering for the RTL bosses and things initially went quiet around Raab.
Stefan Raab thwarted the vacation plans of those responsible for RTL
Stefan Raab finally reported back from his family vacation in the Spreewald. Those responsible for RTL were caught off guard by Raab’s messagebecause Schmitter himself was about to go on a long vacation in the USA and RTL CCO Inga Leschek was in Japan at the same time. Raab got in touch with the following message:

Within 48 hours there was another meeting between the RTL management and Stefan Raab. It is not known what made the entertainer change his mind. What is certain is that RTL had to change some plans for Raab and spent a lot of money. The rest is known and is one of the biggest comebacks of the year.
