New attacks by Russian warplanes in Syria

Panic on the motorway – poisonous snake hid in the car

A woman was driving at 80 kilometers an hour on a freeway in Melbourne when she suddenly felt something brush against her leg.

“Remarkably, she managed to parry the snake and at the same time pull over to the side of the road and get to safety,” writes Victoria Police.

According to the Melbourne snake group, it is a tiger snake, one of the world’s most dangerous snakes.

The snake was taken out of the car and released back into the wild “at a great distance from houses and people”.

Two dead after catastrophic rain in the Swedish paradise

Road users are asked to drive carefully and allow extra time for the journey.

A man has been arrested during the night on suspicion of assaulting a close woman, the police write on their website.

One to hospital after house fire

One person has been taken to hospital after a heavy house fire near Fjugesta in Lekeberg municipality, reports Nerikes Allehanda. Emergency services and an ambulance were called at 01.45, on the night of Sunday.

– They arrive at a burnt-out shack and the roof has collapsed. It is burnt down, says André Nielsen at SOS Alarm, who is responsible for the Rescue Region Bergslagen, to NA.

The condition of the injured person is unknown.

Bomb alarm at recycling – where pieces of wood

A recycling station was blocked off in a residential area in Katrineholm at around 10pm on Saturday evening. A passerby found a box of suspicious items and alerted the police.

On one reader profile in Katrineholms-Kuriren appears to have been two identical devices where cardboard cylinders were put together with red ribbons and had wires and circuit boards connected to them.

After an on-site investigation, the National Bomb Squad was able to determine that the objects were harmless.

– It was pieces of wood and cables wrapped in cardboard cylinders. We suspect no crime, says Linus Maxe at the police’s regional command center.
