HBO Max, which will be operational in our country soon; It is WarnerMedia’s streaming service and not just titles from HBO; as well as Warner Bros. It also hosts a large number of films from its library and other studios. The HBO Max movies available at launch are actually pretty awesome. beetlejuice
Tim Burton’s comedy classic is always a great watch. “Beetlejuice”, from the city (played by Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis) who died in a car accident; It revolves around a couple who become ghosts trapped in their home they have to witness being sold and renovated by a gauche family. They enlist the help of a “bio-exorcist” named Beetlejuice (played by Michael Keaton) and all hell breaks loose. The film brings a colorful and creative perspective to the afterlife. And it offers a dark comedy about the living dead.
capote
If you’re in the mood for a true story drama, director Bennett Miller’s Oscar-winning 2005 biopic “Captote” would be a great movie. The film follows the events of Truman Capote writing his seminal 1965 book “In Cold Blood” as he investigates the heartbreaking murder that inspired the “non-fiction novel”. Philip Seymour Hoffman won the Best Actor Oscar for his surprising portrayal of the iconic author, and Catherine Keener plays acclaimed writer Harper Lee in the film.
William Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet
“Moulin Rogue!” and “The Great Gatsby” filmmaker Baz Luhrmann has always had a theatrical flair, making him a perfect fit for his 1996 remake of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Appropriately called “Romeo + Juliet,” the film retains much of Shakespeare’s dialogue but includes a contemporary setting and characters, sword swapping for weapons, and Verona for “Verona Beach.” The newly popular duo of Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes do a firework pairing at the center of the movie, and a popular soundtrack pairs nicely with Luhrmann’s fast-paced visual approach.
dune
Director Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” is the kind of prestigious, epic sci-fi adaptation that studios rarely make, and it’s worth watching for that alone. Based on Frank Herbert’s novel of the same name, the film stars Timothee Chalamet as the young Paul Atreides who accompanies his family to House Atreides, who is tasked with overseeing the mining of a precious resource on the planet Arrakis. But once they arrive, they battle the planet’s native population and the treacherous House Harkonnen, who want their position back at any cost. This superbly crafted movie will be adapted into the forthcoming “Dune: Part Two,” the first half and second half of the “Dune” storyline.
West Side Story
Steven Spielberg’s first musical, “West Side Story,” is one of the best movies he’s ever made. This new adaptation of the Broadway hit is set in 1957 New York City, where two warring gangs—Polish teenagers The Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks—fight for control over a strip of land that will already be gentrified. In the middle, Tony (Ansel Elgort) and Maria (Rachel Zegler) fall in love despite being on opposite sides of the tracks. Spielberg shows a film set in the past, based on an emotional and tragic love story, that touches on the tensions we face today.
Nobody
If you’re in the mood for a full-blown action movie, Bob Odenkirk’s “Nobody” will do. The “Better Call Saul” actor trained for over a year to get into combat form to play a family man who returns to his dangerous old life after experiencing a home invasion. Directed by Ilya Naishuller, the film features some jaw-dropping action sequences in the vein of “John Wick” (and it’s not surprising to see the film written and produced by alumni of “John Wick”).
Doctor Sleep
There’s no reason why the sequel to “The Shining” is so good, but that’s the magic of producer Mike Flanagan. The writer and director behind the Netflix series “The Haunting of Hill House” and “Midnight Mass” brings his touch of Stephen King in “Doctor Sleep,” where Ewan McGregor plays the adult Danny Torrance, who is pulled back to the Overlook. The hotel begins with the sudden arrival of a group of nearly immortal psychics. The film beautifully straddles the line between the supernatural and grounded horror, and in that context, serves as a bridge between Stanley Kubrick’s supernatural-lite take on “The Shining” and King’s more ghostly source material.
Free Guys
In “Free Guy,” a great original blockbuster, Ryan Reynolds plays a living NPC (Non-Playable Character) in a “Sims”-like video game populated largely by online gamers. When she suddenly regains consciousness, she begins to make decisions for herself outside of her predetermined routine, while an outsider, played by Jodie Comer, asks for your help to find some codes buried within the game. Taika Waititi plays a nefarious video game designer, and in the “Stranger Things” debut, Joe Keery plays an employee at the game company who may or may not be helpful in Reynolds and Comer’s quest. If you’re looking for an enjoyable and surprisingly emotional movie for all ages, check it out.
Ocean’s Eleven
Steven Soderbergh’s “Ocean’s Eleven” has an effortlessly cool vibe that makes it one of the most watchable movies ever made, and while it’s definitely a heist movie, it’s also hilarious. The cast of Soderbergh plays it all with a dryness befitting scammers looking to rob a Las Vegas casino. So yes, while “Ocean’s Eleven” is a thrilling heist movie in its own right, it’s slyly one of the best comedies of the 21st century.

With an ensemble cast of Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Laurence Fishburne, Marion Cotillard, Jennifer Ehle, Bryan Cranston and Gwyneth Paltrow, the film charts the rise of a deadly global epidemic from various perspectives.
Nightmare Alley
Guillermo del Toro’s 2021 drama “Nightmare Street” is a rich and disturbing piece of character about identity, not for the faint of heart. In the late 1930s and early 1940s, Bradley Cooper stars as Stanton Carlisle, a vagrant working for a traveling carnival where he gets a mental kick. Years later, she’s now taken this mentalist act as her own and found success in the big city, but her world begins to fall apart when she teams up with a mysterious therapist (played by Cate Blanchett). Cooper is terrific in the lead role and the movie is home to one of the most memorable endings of recent memory.
News of the World
The front of Tom Hanks, 2020 Western “News of the World” is a surprisingly touching movie that speaks to the world we live in today. Directed by Oscar-nominated “The Bourne Ultimatum” and “United 93” filmmaker Paul Greengrass, the film is set in 1870 and follows a former Confederate officer (played by Hanks) who now travels from town to town to read the news of the day. When he rescues a young woman who seems to have been captured and raised by the Indians, he takes it upon himself to deliver her home.
Malignant
You have to be on the right wavelength to enjoy “Malignant,” but if you’re looking for a horror movie that purposefully winks, this may be a new favorite. From the director of Aquaman and The Conjuring James Wan, Annabelle Wallis stars as a woman who begins to daydream about murdered people and discovers disturbing secrets as she delves into her past. This thing ranges from the spooky horror movie to the murder mystery to the camp monster movie and it never misses a beat and the third act is a total blast.
The Last Duel
Ridley Scott’s historical drama “The Last Duel” made an early debut on HBO Max, and if you missed this 2021 movie in theaters, now is a great time to catch up. The story chronicles the last officially sanctioned duel in the 1400s, and it shifts into gear when a woman accuses one of her husband’s old friends and half rival of rape. The film consists of three parts that tell the story from three different perspectives – the woman, her husband, and the man she accuses of raping her – while offering an insightful and shocking perspective. A fascinating film about how men see the world and their place in it, and how this affects women.
Promising Young Woman
“Promising Young Woman” ticks not only the “newly released” box, but also the “movie you won’t stop thinking about for days”. In writer/director Emerald Fennell’s 2020 thriller, Carey Mulligan stars as a young woman with a traumatic secret who spends her nights collecting men and punishing them for hunting what they think is a drunk, barely conscious woman. The story twists and turns as it unfolds, but Mulligan centers the entire story with a conviction that will shake you to its core until the jaw-dropping ending. It also won the Best Original Screenplay Oscar.
