Bayern Munich had kept a clean sheet in the previous seven games.
Jamal Musiala scored an 85th-minute header to secure a 1-1 away draw for Bayern Munich against Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker on Saturday.
Jamie Gittens buried the goal in the Bayern net from long range when he managed to finish in the first half.
Before Gittens’ hit, the fit Bavarians had not conceded a single goal in their seven previous matches, including all competition series.
Before the break, Bayern suffered a further blow when their top scorer Harry Kane sidelined after injuring himself. England’s national team star will later undergo magnetic resonance imaging due to his injury.
– Harry said it doesn’t feel so bad, but he wants the pictures of his leg to be sure, explained the coach Vincent Kompany.
Considering Bayern’s game events, a well-deserved equalizer in the last minutes kept Bayern still unbeaten in the Bundesliga and increased their lead at the top of the league to seven points.
Bayern kept the ball almost 70 percent and took the shots in the match 14–7 and the expected goal ratio 1.46–0.47.
– We were annoyed by the first half because we didn’t play the way we wanted. We improved in the second half but we should have scored our opener sooner than five minutes from the end, Bayern Thomas Müller chatted.
Dortmund moved up to fifth in the league, but are still ten points behind Bayern.
Lukas Hradecky saved the entire match, when Leverkusen, which he represented, beat Union Berlin 2–1 away from home.
The scoring attempts were marked 8–8 in the struggle.
– It seems that every game against Union is always tight. We knew the game was going to be uncomfortable for us and it’s never easy to play in this stadium. We still deserved the victory today and I’m proud of the team, said Hradecky.
Reigning champion Leverkusen is third in the series with 23 points, together with Frankfurt, who played a game less.
