Chatham-Kent police arrested two people for impaired driving between Friday afternoon and early Saturday morning, who both had breath test results indicating a significant amount of alcohol in their system.
A 61-year-old Chatham man was arrested in the afternoon when police responded to reports of a vehicle crashing into a yellow concrete pillar at a drive-thru on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Police said the accused was transported to police headquarters for breath tests where he blew twice over the legal limit.
The accused was charged with impaired operation of a vehicle and having a blood-alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He was later released with a May 6 court date, police said.
Early Saturday morning, a 30-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested after police responded to a driving complaint on Prince Albert Road near Grand Avenue in Chatham.
The accused was transported to police headquarters for breath tests, blowing nearly three times over the legal limit, police said.
The woman was charged with impaired operation and having a blood-alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. She was later released with a May 13 short date.
Dresden pair facing break and enter charge
A Dresden man and woman, both 38, were arrested after Chatham-Kent police responded to reports by neighbors of lights being on in a vacant residence early Friday morning.
Police arrived to find a side door had been kicked in.
The two accused were found inside and both arrested for breaking and entering, police said.
While being searched during the arrest, police said the man was found with suspected methamphetamine resulting in a charge of being in possession of a controlled substance.
The male was released with a May 5 court date and the woman was released with a May 20 court date, police said.
