Ruud van Nistelrooy as head coach to Leicester Sports

Leicester snapped up the Dutch legend who was released from Manchester United.

Leicester, who play in the English Premier League, fired their head coach last weekend by Steve Cooper after only 12 league rounds.

On Friday, the club announced its new pilot, and the name arouses interest: a Dutch ex-top player Ruud van Nistelrooy takes the reins with a contract that runs until summer 2027.

Van Nistelrooy, 48, has previously been the head coach of the Dutch club PSV. Most recently, he was at Premier League Manchester United, where he served as interim head coach this season. Under the leadership of van Nistelrooy, ManU won three matches and drew one.

– I am proud and excited. I am ready to give my all to this club, van Nistelrooy beamed.

Leicester are 16th in the Premier League, a point above the relegation zone. It faces Brentford on Saturday, and in that match the coaching responsibility is still the co-pilot By Ben Dawson. Van Nistelrooy’s debut at the club will come on Tuesday in the match against West Ham.
