It was the comeback that the whole skiing world had been looking forward to. The Norwegian ski queen Therese Johaug was finally back after months of speculation and a two-year absence from the ski slopes.
Johaug’s comeback
She also set off at a blistering pace and easily took the lead in the first race of the World Cup. At the age of 36, Johaug showed that time had stood still for the past two years and that it was apparently so easy to return to the top of the world.

Then started Frida Karlsson the premiere race in Ruka and shocked everyone. Just a few weeks ago, we were all worried if Frida would even be able to compete during the World Ski Championships in February after a tough setback just before the start of the season.

When the rest of the national skiing team went on snow, Frida instead chose the warmth of Tenerife with rehab training and cycling. It would turn out to be a complete stroke of genius!

Frida Karlsson got the much-needed calm she needed and was able to drop her shoulders to ease the pressure and expectations. Then she stepped into 10 kilometers and outclassed EVERYONE.
What an incredible display by Karlsson who crushed Johaug and won by a whopping 46.5 seconds. An incredible show of power by the Swede and the Norwegian will dream sweaty and blue-yellow nightmares tonight.
