On Thursday afternoon, Lebanon’s army accused Israel of violating the ceasefire on several occasions both on Wednesday and Thursday.
“The Israeli enemy has violated the agreement several times,” the army said, referring to airstrikes and attacks on Lebanese territory with “various weapons.”
Israel has also accused Hezbollah of violating the ceasefire.
Israeli shelling of vehicles in Lebanon
On Thursday morning, there were reports that Israeli tanks attacked vehicles in six locations in southeastern Lebanon.
Something that was later confirmed by Israel’s military (IDF) in a post on Telegram where they write that they fired at suspicious vehicles moving in southern Lebanon and claimed that the vehicles’ activity was a violation of the ceasefire
According to the ceasefire, Hezbollah is not allowed to have any military activities in southern Lebanon. The agreement also states that the parties have the right to self-defense in the event of a breach of the agreement.
Hezbollah, for its part, claims that Israel is attacking people returning to their homes in Lebanon, Reuters reports.
Israel is said to have also shelled vehicles on Wednesday.
Israel confirms airstrike against southern Lebanon
During Thursday afternoon, the IDF confirmed that it carried out an air strike in southern Lebanon on Thursday. The IDF believes that the background to the air attack was the discovery of a Hezbollah facility where there were medium-range robots.
In a post on X, Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee writes that the military remains in southern Lebanon to “counteract all violations of the ceasefire agreement”, reports TT.
Netanyahu: Open to ceasefire in southern Gaza
In an interview with the Israeli television channel Channel 14, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he has ordered the Israeli military to prepare for an intense war in Lebanon if the framework of the ceasefire is broken, Reuters reports.
At the same time, he opens for a ceasefire in southern Gaza but at the same time announces that he is not ready to end the war.
– I will not let the counterpart in Gaza (Hamas) rearm, so the goal in the north is different from the goal in the south. But my answer is clear: I am ready for a truce in southern Gaza that I believe can bring home the hostages, says Netanyahu.
