The private equity fund Argos Wityu buys the Monviso company

(Finance) – Private equity firm Argos Wityu buys MonvisoItalian excellence in the premium bakery products sector, by Cerea Partnersindependent private equity firm, and CAPZAleader in investments in private European SMEs. This acquisition represents the ninth investment of the Mid-Market VIII fund by Argos Wityu.

Monviso, drawing on its 90 years of experience, offers premium, gourmet and healthy baked products (including rusks, biscuits and bread substitutes) mainly in Northern Italy. The company produces for third parties and private labels, also serving the retail channel with the Monviso brand, the third best-selling rusk brand in Italy.

With five production plants and more than 160 employees in Northern Italy, Monviso expects to generate revenues of approximately 60 million in 2024. While managing Cerea Partners and CAPZA, the company established itself as a multi-product, multi-channel excellence leader.

Argos Wityu will support Monviso and its management team, led by CEO Manfredi Cusmano, to become a leading platform in the premium baked goods market, targeting retailers, co-makers and industrialists with a premium multi-product portfolio, a positioning to ” one-stop shop” and a strong focus on innovation.

Francesco Puglieseformer CEO of CONAD and former General Director of Barilla, will enter as the new President.

The financing of the operation was guaranteed by Kartesia Management, with the participation of Eurizon Capital Real Asset SGR, while BNL and Banca Sella provided the RCF financing.
