Fire and explosion broke out on a Swedish cargo ship near the Danish island of Bornholm during Thursday evening, according to several media.
– There are five people on board. A Swedish rescue helicopter is the first unit on the scene and has started to winch the people up, says air rescue leader Fredrik Hermansson to Aftonbladet.
There are no reports of personal injuries.
– At 21.20 they went out with a mayday and informed that they had a fire and explosion on board and that they needed to abandon the ship, says the sea rescue leader Emma Nykvist to Expressen.
