On November 28, 2023, 20-year-old Elliott took the car out into the snowstorm after work. Since then has not been seen. The last thing known is that Elliott’s mobile was “pinned” in the Jävre area, north of Skellefteå, just before half past ten in the evening. Then it was turned off. For a year, the family, together with the police and Missing People, have struggled to find traces of Elliott – but none have turned up. – I don’t think there are words to describe what our family has been through, says Anna Larsson, Elliott’s mother. And the support has been huge. Many have become involved in the search. – What we are thinking today is that it is very twofold. It’s terrible what we’ve been through. But at the same time when we look back, you also see everything, partly warmth and love, but above all what a huge turnout there has been. And so many who still look for Elliott’s car when they’re out driving up north. Appealing to the public It is known that Elliott’s mobile phone was tapped just before half past ten on Tuesday evening. But which direction he drove is still unclear. Anna Larsson appeals to those who know that they were out driving that evening, that they can try to remember if they have seen Elliott’s car, a dark gray Volvo S80 of the model year 2005. There is also new hope in the search. Missing people will try to scan the ice with a GPR, ground-penetrating radar, which can detect metals below the surface. – It has been a difficult case, you don’t get wise, you think that a big car can’t just disappear. That’s the only thing we have left to test, if we find the car, we’ll find Elliott, says Martin Persson, mission leader for Missing People in Västerbotten. “Hope for an end” Only when the ice settles will it be possible to test the method. – It gives us hope that maybe we will get an ending, maybe get a hint about what happened. The fact is that Elliott is not missing. Somewhere he is and somewhere there is the car that can give us clues, says Anna Larsson. Tonight, the family, who live scattered around the country, will meet in Skellefteå together with Elliott’s friends. Some are on video link. – We have really tried to be careful of each other during this year. It will be nice to meet and talk about Elliott with those who know him.
