During the investigation, the police have found a total of 111 possible victims, the newspaper The Guardian says. The youngest suspected victim was 13 years old.
In September, the public broadcasting company BBC published a documentary film, according to which al-Fayed sexually exploited female employees of his department store and other companies. According to the documentary, Harrods did not intervene in al-Fayed’s activities but covered it up.
Al-Fayed denied the allegations while he was alive. He sold Harrods in 2010.
