Ice hockey: Here, Washington goalie Charlie Lindgren makes a bizarre own goal against Tampa in the NHL

Watch the bizarre own goal in the player above.

At 3-3 in the third period, Charlie Lindgren stole the headlines, but for the wrong reason.

Seemingly unpressured, the 30-year-old Washington goalkeeper made a real mistake when he sent in an own goal.

Since Brayden Point was the last Tampa Bay player to touch the puck, he was awarded the goal – thus becoming a hat trick scorer in the game.

Despite this, Washington managed to turn the tables and win 5–4 in regular time.

– It was not fun. But the boys rallied and pulled off a strong victory. It’s character. We laughed it off, says Lindgren to the NHL website.
