It’s been languishing for days Undercover in the retirement home in the Netflix series charts around – currently in third place ahead of Mindful Murder and Arcane. This is the new crime comedy from Michael Schur, the co-creator of the cop comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Undercover in a retirement home on Netflix: A new crime comedy from the Brooklyn Nine-Nine creator

Undercover in the Retirement Home is about widower Charles Nieuwendyk (Danson), who is encouraged by his daughter Emily (Mary Elizabeth Ellis) to find new employment after the death of his wife. So he hires Julie Kovalenko (Lilah Richcreek Estrada) in the private detective agency to go undercover in the Pacific View retirement home in San Francisco to search for a lost necklace.

During his job as a silver-haired spy, Charles takes the people of Didi’s (Stephanie Beatritz) retirement home into his heart and gains new courage to live. And best of all: The whole thing is based on a true story from Chile, which was already the subject of the 2020 documentary The Mole – A Detective in the Nursing Home. But the 83-year-old Sergio was actually supposed to uncover cases of abuse at the time.

Undercover in the retirement home currently includes eight episodes in one season, which have been online on Netflix since November 21st. It is not yet clear whether there will be a second season afterwards. On Rotten Tomatoes, critics and audiences agree with 96 percent in the Tomatometer and 95 percent in the Popcorn Meter.
