Supernose podcast is discontinued, but the entertainer is against it

Thomas Gottschalk has been criticized since he promoted his new book. He justifies himself for his constant statements and has recently repeatedly insulted Maite Kelly, including in his podcast Die Supernasen with Mike Krüger. Now RTL wants to stop the podcast – but Gottschalk asserts the opposite.

In Thomas Gottschalk and Mike Krüger’s podcast Die Supernasen, the two presenters often don’t hold back. This is what Gottschalk said in an issue against Maite Kelly. When it came to her upcoming Christmas show The Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights, in which Maite Kelly is also scheduled to appear, Gottschalk said:

I’ll probably have to push Maite Kelly aside so that people can see me.

This not only led to accusations of body shaming, Maite Kelly herself also commented in addition. She said:

Even as a child, I was smart enough to know that people who resort to such platitudes just deserve my pity.

In the Bild newspaper, Thomas Gottschalk defended his statements by saying that jokes were always at the expense of others and he “Don’t let Maite get away scot-free” wool. Apparently Maite Kelly is not supposed to appear at the Advent show.

But RTL may have gone too far. In a dpa report, the broadcaster said, to stop the podcast at the end of the year. This means there will only be two editions in December with the two TV faces.

Gottschalk claims something different. In an interview with Bild he says that the two of them want to tune in to the podcast on their own initiative. According to their own statements, both want to avoid further shitstorms and are tired of being constantly misunderstood. It is unclear whether RTL stopped the podcast or whether the end was initiated by Krüger and Gottschalk. In any case, a continuation of the Supernase podcast next year is out of the question.
