(Finance) – ENAVthe company that manages civil air traffic in Italy, continues to expand in the foreign market by exporting its products and know-how in the field of air traffic management. Through its subsidiary IDS AirNav, a global leader in aeronautical information management systems, ENAV has been awarded a contract with a new customer, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, (CAAN) for the supply and assistance of a advanced aeronautical information management system.
CAAN is responsible for civil aviation and air navigation services over approximately 150,000 square kilometers of airspace and 34 operational airports in Nepal.
The order includes the commissioning of AMHS systems (Aeronautical Message Handling System) and CRONOS, the platform for the dissemination of aeronautical information, such as NOTAMs (NOtice To Air Men) to inform flight crews about conditions along the route, the efficiency of radio aids and any changes in availability of airspace or runways in use, weather data and pre-flight information bulletins.
CRONOS, a high-performance and high-availability digital archive, thanks to integration with the AMHS messaging system, governs and facilitates the exchange of aeronautical information, simplifying its reading and dissemination among all air transport stakeholders such as airports, airlines , air forces and meteorological services.
The system will be operational by 2025.
In 2024 alone, to date, after Nepal, ENAV has acquired new foreign customers such as the Fiji Islands, the Dominican Republic, Tunisia, Kosovo and Cambodia and also in Italy it has signed a contract with TELEDIFE (Telematic and Advanced Technologies of the Ministry of Defense) for the installation of the new radar of the Sigonella military base.
