The developers of Baldur’s Gate 3 have presented the latest patch. There’s a lot of new content – there are even new classes.
Baldur’s Gate 3 was already a pretty big game when it was released and you can spend hundreds of hours in it. With the patches, the game became even bigger – most recently there were a variety of new, evil endings. But Baldur’s Gate 3 is still not over. Now the developers have announced patch 8. It not only brings crossplay, but also 12 new, playable sub-classes.
12 new subclasses
Which sub-classes are in the patch? There are a total of 12 new subclasses that will come into play with Patch 8 and expand the classes already available. The developers have already revealed some details on Steam:
Cross-Play finally for Baldur’s Gate 3
Also new in Patch 8 is the full functionality of cross-progression and cross-play. As soon as the patch goes live, you can adventure together with friends on other systems. So you can create mixed groups in which the participants use PC or console. This will run over the Larian network.
Gone are the days when you all had to play on the same platform.
What else is in the patch? Aside from the gameplay highlights, there are also a few little tidbits, such as an extensive photo mode. Here you can not only have your characters take different poses, but also hide annoying NPCs and of course position the camera freely. This should make for some special screenshots.
When will patch 8 be released? There is no specific date for the patch yet, but it is likely to be a few months away. The “stress test” for the patch is not scheduled to start until January. Nobody should therefore expect a release before February 2025. However, considering the amount of content coming here, the wait might be worth it.
If you want to bring a little fresh air into the adventures of Baldur’s Gate 3 before Patch 8 is released, you can install various mods to experience new things. Someone has looked at all the mods and expressly recommends these 10.
