A life sentence is not an exemption for committing serious criminal offenses again, the Public Prosecution Service argued. After 25 years, someone can still be eligible for activities aimed at reintegration, after which a pardon can follow. In that case, according to the Public Prosecution Service, a new prison sentence may subsequently be served.
