Concerns are growing for Norwegian ski star Kristine Stavå’s Skistad.
But still very few know what has happened to her.
Now SVT expert Anders Blomquist gives his honest view of the mystery.
Sweden has really dominated the women’s sprint in recent years. With world skiers who Jonna Sundling, Lynn Svahn, Emma Ribom and Maja Dahlqvist has the Swedish national skiing team subscribed to the gold medals in the championships and the podium places at the World Cup.
Stavås Skistad’s setback
The only one who has been able to stand up to the blue-yellow dominance is the Norwegian skiing star Kristine Stavå’s Ski City. Last season was her best so far in her career with five World Cup victories and a total of eleven podiums.

She is Norway’s great hope for gold in the sprint ahead of the Ski World Cup at home in Trondheim, but the upload has been seriously affected. The 25-year-old was forced to have a mysterious stomach operation recently and is therefore getting rehab training instead of going to Ruka for the season opener of the World Cup.
Blomquist gives his verdict
Concerns are growing for the Norwegian and it is highly unclear when she can return to the ski slopes again. Now the SVT expert gives Anders Blomquist his honest judgment about what has actually happened with Kristine Stavås Skistad.
– Very good question. No one knows. She is a bit like that, wants to maintain a high level of integrity and not figure in the media at all. She has been very clear that she does not want to talk about this surgery. She doesn’t want anyone else to talk about it and I actually don’t know what it is she has operated on, he says in a question and answer session with SVT viewers.

The SVT profile has also shown respect for the Norwegian and not delved too much into the mystery surrounding her situation.
– I have not wanted to lie about the contacts you have, out of respect for her. But if it’s an appendix and she can start training fairly soon, it doesn’t matter much. Is it any worse? Of course, then it can be a completely different seat. What you have to bear in mind when it comes to Skistad is that for many years she has been quite sluggish at the beginning of the season and had to compete and then she comes in great shape in the middle and at the end of a season, says “Blomman” to the television viewers.
– Then she matches and sometimes beats the Swedish girls. She needs a lot of competition and obviously if she can’t start competing now and get the way she’s used to in the past it’s going to be a silly thing, so I think that’s going to do it for her. But there is still time and we don’t know what kind of damage it is. It will of course depend on how soon she can come back.
