William Poromaa and Calle Halfvarsson are involved in the Ruka World Cup opening.

Sweden will qualify for the Ruka World Cup with its number one skiers.

William Poromaa suffered from illness last week and Calle Halfvarsson from a back problem, but they too have been named to the Ruka race weekend that opens the World Cup season.

– We believe and hope that they will be fully ready this weekend, the head coach of the national team Anders Byström said on Tuesday on the website of the Swedish Ski Association about Poromaa and Halfvarsson.

In the women’s section, Sweden’s big names are in the team heading to Ruka Ebba Andersson and Frida Karlsson under.

Ruka’s competition program includes 10-kilometer traditional cross-country skiing races on Friday, sprints on Saturday, and 20-kilometer freestyle combined starts on Sunday.
