The long-awaited Rise of Skywalker comic book is finally hitting the shelves, exactly five years after the movie was released.
Marvel and Disney announced that the Rise of Skywalker five-issue comic book series will launch in February 2025. The original creative team of Jody Houser and Will Sliney continues the project, including additional material not included in the film. The first issue of the Rise of Skywalker comic was originally set to be released in June 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted Marvel’s plans. As priorities shift to comic book adaptations of series like Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Mandalorian, Rise of Skywalker comic A new release date for the project was not determined.
Rise of Skywalker Comic Meets Fans
Editor Mark Panicca noted that the Rise of Skywalker comic comes at an important time, with a resurgence of interest in Sequel Trilogy characters. He added that Kylo Ren will get his own solo comic a few weeks before the adaptation’s release.
Panicca emphasized that Houser’s script captures the impact of iconic moments between the film’s heroes and villains, while Will Sliney’s artwork and Guru-eFX’s gorgeous colors make this epic finale a visually unique experience.
If all goes as planned, the five-issue comic book adaptation of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will premiere on February 26, 2025. Star Wars fans will have the opportunity to discover additional scenes not included in the theatrical version of the film with the Rise of Skywalker comic book. The comic book adaptation of Rise of Skywalker, the last film of the Sequel Trilogy, will reinforce the film’s cult status and enrich the Star Wars universe.
