Star Citizen will be free-to-play until December 5th, with a tutorial system specifically designed for new and returning players.
Developer Cloud Imperium says this event provides the perfect opportunity to test new ships, brush up on space survival basics, and prepare to explore new frontiers. Star Citizen’s free-to-play event includes a special training system that will allow players to learn the basics of the game before embarking on a space adventure.
New Ships and Exciting Missions Await You in Star Citizen
Once players complete the new player experience with the starter ship named Drake Cutter, they will be able to rent any of the available ships to carry out a series of missions. These missions include bounty hunting, cargo transportation, mining, and visiting the IAE fairgrounds. By completing missions, they will be able to earn the in-game currency UEC, IAE clothing, and a set of armor and weapons to jump-start their new life in space.
New ships are also introduced at the event. These include the Terrapin Medic, which will be the savior of injured explorers or soldiers, and the new members of the F7C Mk II series, the F7C-R and the F7C-S, known as “Ghost”. Cloud Imperium emphasizes that there’s never been a better time to fly in Star Citizen.
Star Citizen has achieved incredible success through crowdfunding, raising more than $700 million in total. Cloud Imperium recently shared an extensive gameplay video of Squadron 42, the Star Citizen spin-off scheduled for release in 2026. The free-to-play event provides a great opportunity for new players to join the ever-growing universe of Star Citizen.
