Unknown detail of the Helicopter Robbery was used by

On September 23, 2009, at 05:18 in the morning, the helicopter robbery began at the security company G4S’s warehouse in Västberga.

Ten people were charged and seven were convicted, but there are many indications that there may have been as many as 20 people involved, something that, among other things, the prosecutor Leif Görts highlighted.

– I think there were upwards of 20 people involved in the robbery itself. We got half of it. But it is clear that there were more involved, central people who invested and who were the brains behind it, he told the newspaper Mitti in 2019.

Timeline: The helicopter robbery in Västberga

  • 05.19: The police receive an alert about the robbery, but have difficulty getting to the safe deposit box because the robbers have placed foot pegs on several roads leading to the location.
  • 05.43: The robbers get into the vault where the money is kept and then get up to the roof.
  • 05.49: The helicopter descends for landing on the roof of the safe deposit box and then takes off with the loot: SEK 39.1 million.
  • 15 years later, the robbery has become one of the most rewritten in Swedish history, a Neflix series about the robbery has been created and the crime statute-barred.

And the robbers’ booty of 39 million? Like blown away.
