Boy arrested on the Öresund Bridge – for weapons delivery to Malmö

A 15-year-old boy, on the run from an HVB home, has been arrested for a large arms delivery.
He had with him three automatic weapons, two pistols and a hand grenade, according to information given to TV4 Nyheterna.
The police caught him in a Danish taxi on the way to Malmö – in what is described as a coincidence.

The police carried out a routine check on the Öresund Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

They then stopped a taxi from Denmark that was on its way to Malmö, according to information given to TV4 Nyheterna. When the patrol checked the passenger, it turned out to be a 15-year-old boy from Stockholm, who was on the run from an HVB home.

According to the same information, the boy was carrying what was described as an arsenal of weapons that shocked the police.

According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, he had three automatic carbines, two pistols and a hand grenade.

Nils Norling, press spokesperson at the Malmö Police, says:

– A passenger car was checked during the afternoon at Lernacken. Several firearms and at least one explosive device were found in the car.

The 15-year-old was arrested for particularly serious weapons offences. A man over the age of 18 was arrested later this weekend on suspicion of involvement in the large arms delivery.

– Both are under arrest. We cannot rule out that more people were involved in this incident. Whether it was a weapons transport or something else, the investigation must show, says Nils Norling.
