The Lebanese regime is at the point of collapse, so a ceasefire between the extremist organization Hezbollah and Israel must be reached immediately, said the visiting EU foreign policy representative in Beirut Josep Borrell on Sunday.
– When I visited in September, I hoped that we could prevent a full-scale war caused by Israel’s attack. Two months later, Lebanon is on the brink of collapse, Borrell said.
According to Borrell, progress can only be made if there is a ceasefire between the parties and the decisions of the UN Security Council are implemented.
