What awaits Elrond in the third season of the Lord of the Rings series?

Anyone who only knows the character Elrond from the series and Peter Jackson’s films probably doesn’t know that Elrond in Tolkien had a very eventful life has. Here you will find three possible, dark starting points for the elf’s further story:

  • Season 3 could be reminiscent of the controversial kiss (invented by the series). Elrond and Galadriel to cause broken hearts when Galadriel’s husband Celeborn inevitably returns.

  • After the Dwarven Prince was late in sending his promised help at the Battle of Eregion (“Durin will come,” Elrond insisted to the end), this could be the most heartwarming Friendship of Durin and Elrond Risse – especially since it is not yet clear in which direction the dangerous dwarven rings will drive the heir to the throne. Elrond is notoriously skeptical of all rings of power.
  • Season 3 could also Elrond’s wife Celebrían introduce (who in Tolkien is also Galadriel’s daughter) … who, however, for a sad reason, can no longer be found at Elrond’s side in Frodo’s time in Rivendell, which was recently introduced in the series.     • We won’t find out which way the Lord of the Rings series decides to destroy Elrond’s optimism for at least two years. We expect the third season of The Rings of Power in January at the earliest Fall 2026 on Amazon Prime.
