The story of Enemies – Hostiles takes you to the year 1892. We are in the New Mexico Territory. Captain Joseph “Joe” Blocker (Christian Bale) has fulfilled his army duties. Now he is looking forward to retirement without violence and worries. But then he receives one last order: He is supposed to bring the dying Cheyenne chief Yellow Hawk (Wes Studi) to his homeland, to the Valley of the Bear.

However, the journey to Bear Valley, located in the US state of Montana, turns out to be a tricky affair. Not only is the squad led by Blocker exposed to the dangers of nature, but also within the group tensions spread. One of the reasons for this: Blocker and Yellow Hawk were once mortal enemies.

Enemies – Hostiles was directed by Scott Cooper, who most recently caused a stir on Netflix with the eerie mystery thriller The Memorable Case of Mr Poe. With his western he bows to them Legends of the genreespecially John Ford, who made groundbreaking masterpieces like The Black Falcon.
