Samsung Makes Its Mobile Cloud Gaming Platform Available for Free

Samsung has made its mobile cloud gaming platform available for Galaxy devices for free in North America. After a one-year beta period, the platform met with users with 23 games.

Samsung mobile cloud gaming platformattracts attention as a long-awaited service. Samsung Gaming Hub, which replaces Samsung’s Game Launcher application, is offered to users free of charge. The platform includes popular free games such as Monopoly Go, Candy Crush Saga, Homescapes and Honor of Kings.

No Monthly Subscriptions or Additional Fees on Samsung Mobile Cloud Gaming Platform

Jong Woo, Samsung’s vice president of gaming services, stated that unlike other cloud services, no content on the Samsung mobile cloud gaming platform is paid and users can access these games without paying a monthly subscription. Games can be accessed through links distributed through Galaxy Store listings, Samsung Gaming Hub or advertisements.

Samsung announced that 50% of the players who clicked on the mobile cloud game ad or listing during the beta period played the linked game. The company believes that the download-free access provided by cloud gaming will significantly change the way game publishers scale their mobile games.

Besides Samsung’s mobile cloud gaming platform, the company is also stepping into the cloud gaming space through its smart TVs. Samsung, which has signed an important partnership with Xbox, also supports other services such as Boosteroid. The company, which previously tried a game streaming service called PlayGalaxy Link for PC and some Galaxy devices, shut down this service before it even started.
