Around 300 families are fleeing northwest Pakistan since around 35 people have been killed in sectarian violence.
In recent months, around 150 people have been killed in sectarian fighting between people belonging to both Sunni and Shia Muslim schools in the northern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which borders Afghanistan.
“Around 300 families have been moved to Hangy and Peshawar since this morning in search of safety,” said a senior source, adding that more families are preparing to leave.
Another senior source said the latest deadly fighting took place on Saturday. More than 20 are also said to have been injured.
Just a few days earlier, more than 40 people were killed in an ambush against a convoy.
