Court wants personal information about the leaker

How does Netflix plan to find the leaker? As Polygon reports, a court in California has now subpoenaed Discord on December 2, 2024. In the official document obtained by Polygon (via scribd.com), the court wants sufficient information to identify the individual users of the account @jacejohns4n responsible for the unauthorized publication of a copyrighted image on or about November 12, 2024 .

The court wants to find out private information such as names or addresses. According to Polygon, the user with the name given by the court posted unpublished pictures of Squid Game Season 2 on Discord.

Netflix did not respond to a request from Polygon on the matter.

The leaker also seems to be proud of his actions. In an interview (via telegra.ph), which the user @jacejohns4n himself posted on X according to GamesRadar, the alleged leaker speaks of the worst leak in streaming history.

The X account has now been deleted. It cannot be confirmed whether the person in the interview was really the perpetrator behind the big leak from September 2024. According to GamesRadar, the interview was posted by an X account that had the same name as the person wanted by the court.

In the interview, the alleged leaker also talks about Arcane Season 2, which he considers to be a downgrade compared to Season 1. But he seems to belong to the minority, because season 2 of Arcane is also quite well received by fans and critics: The 2nd season of Arcane on Netflix delights critics and fans – it is better received than The Boys and House of the Dragon
