Antti Tuisku will participate in the Imatra and Taivalkoski SM skis this season. After that, he is not seen on the racetracks.
One of the top artists in the Finnish entertainment world Antti Tuisku40, revealed last February that he will participate in the cross-country skiing championships.
Since then, the plans have become more detailed, and Tuisku has said that he will ski in the 10-kilometer traditional skiing competition in January at the Imatra Ski Championships and at the beginning of April in Taivalkoski in the 10-kilometer freestyle skiing championship.
Now he reveals that after that a career as a competitive skier is in the package.
– A roller ski track will be built in Rovaniemi in 2025, and sometimes I have thought that it would be great to continue one more season, so that I could experience the last of the summer training in good conditions. But with 99 percent certainty, my competitive and goal-oriented skiing will definitely end at Taivalkoski, Tuisku says.
Tuisku plans to continue skiing with fitness in mind – the Ski Club AT Ski Team that bears his name already obliges him to do so.
– It would be embarrassing if I suddenly couldn’t keep up with other people on long runs anymore, Tuisku laughs.

Tuisku has often been asked if the story of the AT Ski Team will continue after Tuisku himself stops competing. It amazes the avid skier.
– Even though I am a selfish person, I am not so selfish that I would start a skiing club just for myself. It would be terrible if the AT Ski Team stopped after I stopped skiing myself.
A house in Spain
Tuisku jumped from the career of an artist directly to a goal-oriented athlete a year and a half ago. The calendar has been full for a long time, but there will be a change next spring.
As an artist, Tuisku accumulated a fortune, which he wants to enjoy after the end of his ascetic life as an athlete. The next plan is to spend a leisurely life in Spain, where Tuisku has a second home.
– The financial freedom that I have achieved for myself has made this skiing project possible for me. I am proud of myself that it is this and not some yacht on the shore of the Mediterranean. But at the same time, I’m looking forward to being able to enjoy the capital I’ve accumulated, travel and see the world, and do things spontaneously, Tuisku thinks.
