Sleeping man arrested after trailer hit

Six Nations Police woke and arrested a sleeping man last month after investigating reports that a vehicle had been moving erratically before hitting a trailer on Harold Road.

Witnesses said the driver lost control and hit the trailer on Oct. 12 at about 10:45 pm

The trailer had minimal damage but road marks leading up to it.

The suspected vehicle was nearby and, when officers approached it, they found a man asleep in the passenger seat.

Once awakened, the 34-year-old man was uncooperative with police who charged him with obstructing police, assault with intent to resist arrest, and assaulting a police officer.

The man is set to appear in Brantford court on Dec. 13.
