The maintenance team of the Finnish national skiing team is currently preparing for the World Cup in Ruka in a week.
The Finnish Skiing Federation, which is facing financial difficulties, has had to make changes, and it has also affected the maintenance team.
National team lubrication manager Heikki Tonterin savings have had to be made regarding maintenance during the summer and early autumn.
– The World Cup team has one less maintenance man compared to last year. However, there is a normal-sized maintenance team at the World Championships.
Tonteri says that the personnel shortage does not affect the job description.

Changes have also taken place in the fleet. The long-rumored fluoride ban came into effect last season. According to Tonter, the first year with the ban was difficult. After the start of the new season, the situation has become easier.
– It is more familiar than a year ago. Last year, the punti was a bit heavy because all the products were new. There was no older data that could have been used. Now the situation is different and it is easier.
The Ruka World Cup takes place from November 29 to December 1.
