Brazil’s federal police say they are charging Brazil’s former president Jair Bolsonaro about the coup attempt.
According to the indictment, Bolsonaro and 36 other people tried to keep Bolsonaro in power after he lost the presidential election to the left Luiz Inácio to Lula da Silva.
The police will submit the evidence of the investigation to the Attorney General of Brazil’s Supreme Court, who can either dismiss the charges or start a trial against Bolsonaro.
Right-wing populist politician Bolsonaro is suspected of numerous other crimes.
Bolsonaro has denied all charges.
