There was a Swedish meeting directly at the world tour finals in table tennis in Japan. Then it was a victory for – a somewhat frustrated – Truls Möregårdh with 3-2 in a set against Anton Källberg.
– It is sport to show emotions, says Möregårdh to SVT after the victory.
It was an even match initially, there Anton Källberg took the first set 12–10, before Truls Möregårdh was able to come back and win the second set 13–11.
Trul’s first words
Möregårdh then had problems in the third set and was noticeably frustrated. There was only one point in the set for the 22-year-old, who finished 1-11 after he knocked away his serve for a decisive point in Källberg’s favor.
– That’s how I am. I show a lot of emotion and it might not be very Swedish, says Möregårdh.

Despite the heavy third set, Möregårdh came back in the fourth, won 12–10 and forced a fifth and decisive set. There he was strongest and was able to secure victory by 11–8 in the set.
– It’s sport to show emotions. It was perhaps a little too negative today, but if I didn’t do that I probably wouldn’t have won the match, says Möregårdh.
“It’s boring”
For him now awaits the winner between the world number one Chuqin WangChina, and Patrick FranziskaGermany, in the quarterfinals.

This was the third time in a short time that the two Swedes were pitted against each other. Möregårdh won in the EC quarter-finals, but Källberg got revenge in the semi-finals of the WTT Champions tournament.
– We both probably think it’s boring, said Möregårdh about the draw before the Swedish meeting.
