The police in Sollefteå received several reports of gold thefts during a short period. During the course of the investigation, the home service’s personnel logs were checked, where the police could see who worked and with whom. The woman who is now being sentenced had visited several of the elderly who had been robbed.
The woman has denied all accusations and claimed that the gold the police seized from her home is her own. It is about gold worth several hundred thousand, close to a million in purchase price.
The woman is sentenced to one year and ten months for aggravated theft, aggravated money laundering and aggravated embezzlement for stealing gold rings and other jewelry and then reselling them, including to a man who was accused of embezzlement. The man is sentenced to a suspended sentence and he has also denied the crime.
