Do you dream of hydrated and perfectly defined lips? A professional makeup artist revealed her ultimate secret on the social network Tiktok.

In this month of November, when the cold begins to set in, the complexion often loses its radiance and dark circles become visible. So many of us want to find a “good glow”. And what’s better than a colorful, perfectly shaped mouth to brighten up your face? Here are some tips from makeup artist Nam Vo for achieving perfectly glossy lips.

Lips: what colors to choose in winter?

As soon as autumn arrives, the desire for deep and vibrant colors is felt. Orange, peach, raspberry pink or powder pink lipsticks are relegated to the closet in favor of warmer tones.

Burgundy, plum, brown, as well as deep and intense reds are favored to warm up the complexion. These bolder and more assertive shades go perfectly with fall colors… and, as a bonus, provide a nice contrast with pale complexions.

Intense red is also in season to revive a little too demure makeup. Finally, purple stands out: a real couture accessory, it gives character to the complexion.

In terms of textures, lipsticks become more hydrating in winter. With cold, wind and dry air, lips are more prone to dehydration and chapping. We therefore opt for materials that are more hydrating, more protective and more soothing, such as formulas rich in nourishing agents (shea butter, jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, etc.).

Another advantage of velvety and satin textures: they apply easily and leave a feeling of comfort throughout the day.

The expert’s tip for sporting “Juicy lips”

If the color and material of your lipstick are essential, the preparation of the lips is just as important. Nam Vo, star makeup artist on social networks (became famous thanks to her “dewy dumpling” effect, understand a shiny, controlled and slightly pink complexion), recommends exfoliating your lips using a mechanical scrub in order to remove dead skin.

Then comes the hydration stage: the expert recommends applying a lip balm (with shea butter for example) to the entire mouth so that it is perfectly hydrated (and shiny).

Finally, Nam Vo camouflages his mouth using a concealer, before redefining their contour using a pencil.

She then applies a touch of lipstick to the center of her lips, then finalizes her makeup with a generous coat of gloss. The expected result is there: the lips are hydrated, plumped and nicely colored.
