Several decimeters of snow fell over Uppsala during the night to Thursday – and one of those who were kept busy is Erik Edberg.
– I’ve been driving since eight o’clock last night, and it’s not going so damn well, he says and laughs.
UL temporarily suspended city bus traffic in Uppsala during the morning, but is back up and running with reduced traffic.
Extended orange warning
SMHI’s orange warning for snowfall in Gävleborg county and yellow warnings in Västerbotten’s coastal region, north-eastern and southern Norrland coast and north-eastern Svealand remain in place on Thursday.
In the morning, the area for the orange warning was extended and now applies from Hudiksvall down towards Uppsala until 10 o’clock on Thursday.
The heavy snowfall can create problems in traffic. It is also expected to be fresh wind which can cause problems with drift formation, writes SMHI on its website.
Even in parts of the country without warnings issued, the change in weather can cause problems with slippage and reduced visibility.
