Donald Trump appointed Matthew Whitaker as NATO ambassador News

Future President of the United States Donald Trump has appointed by Matthew Whitaker as the country’s NATO ambassador, i.e. the permanent representative of the United States in NATO.

Trump talks about it on the Truth Social social service.

– Matt is a strong fighter and a loyal patriot who will ensure that the interests of the United States are promoted and defended. Matt will strengthen our relations with our NATO allies, and stand firm in the face of threats to peace and stability, Trump writes.

Whitaker, who worked as a district attorney in Iowa, belongs to Trump’s inner circle. Whitaker briefly served as acting attorney general during Trump’s previous term. Whitaker has close ties to the America First think tank, which has advised Trump on his foreign policy speeches.

Trump has said he will demand that NATO allies take more responsibility for their defense.
