The United States recognizes the opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia As the elected president of Venezuela, says the foreign minister Antony Blinken messaging service in X.
It is the first time that the United States has referred to Gonzalez Urrutia as the president-elect in the July elections. Venezuela is ruled autocratically by the one who has been in power since 2013 Nicolas Madurowhose administration has not released detailed voting data.
