Donald Trump has said he will end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours of taking office as president.
A promise that former Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt does not think Trump will be able to deliver on.
– That will not happen, says Carl Bild to CNN.
President-elect Donald Trump has already held talks with Russian President Putin. He has also stated that he will end the war in Ukraine in just 24 hours – something Carl Bildt believes he will not be able to do.
– He says he will resolve a great peace in 24 hours, that will not happen, says Bildt to CNN and adds:
– Do I know what he intends to do? No, I don’t. Do I think he knows what to do? I doubt that.
“Have more nuclear weapons now than then”
In addition to criticizing Trump’s election promise for a quick peace in Ukraine, he is also critical of Trump’s role as a peace broker and points out that he did not succeed in this during his previous term as president.
The former prime minister points out that Trump did not succeed in relation to North Korea, Iran and Afghanistan.
– North Korea didn’t solve it very well, they have more nuclear weapons now than then, says Bildt.
