The police fear that people with the same surname may be subjected to crime even if they are not related – now everyone is being warned with the name.
– It is absurd. Both my wife and I find it unpleasant, says an affected father of a small child.
A large trial is underway after the high-profile extortion racket against Joachim Kuylenstierna, former CEO of the listed real estate company Fastator.
The businessman and people close to him have been exposed to serious crimes.
And the threat against him continues. Recently, the threats have escalated.
Among other things, a hand grenade was recently found in Gamla stan. Something that is believed to have been aimed at Joachim Kuylenstierna, according to information to TV4 Nyheterna.
Early on Sunday morning, an explosion occurred at a gate to an apartment building in central Stockholm. The general manager Johan Kuylenstierna lives at the address. He has no relation whatsoever to the businessman Joachim Kuylenstierna, apart from the fact that they share a surname. Johan Kuylenstierna tells TV4 Nyheterna that it is “extremely unpleasant” and he therefore does not want to comment further on the bombing.
The police fear that the crime against people whom the perpetrators believe to be related to the businessman may continue – just because of their last name.
“We are extra careful”
After the escalated threat image, the police on Monday began calling around to hundreds of people who share the name and informed them of the situation. TV4 Nyheterna has spoken to one of those who have been in contact with the police because of their surname.
– The police call around and inform that there may be a threat to one’s family, based solely on the fact that one has a surname, says the father of small children, who wishes to remain anonymous.
– The police say that you should pay extra attention, if there is anything that deviates from the normal, but that otherwise you should continue to live your life as usual.
The toddler’s father has no relation at all to Joachim Kuylenstierna.
– We are not related and we have never met and we have never spoken. It’s weird, it’s so absurd, so absurd. Precisely that it only has to do with one’s name. It feels very strange that one’s name would be the reason why one has a threatening image when one has no relationship in general. I don’t know what words to use, he says.
He is now following the police’s advice and has increased his vigilance.
– I’m thinking of my children, of course, it feels uncomfortable. You have to be extra careful and think ahead. Overall, we are extra careful. Above all, be extra vigilant if anything deviates from the normal.
