It was at the end of October that SVT Sport was able to tell about great dissatisfaction in the Swedish alpine national team.
In a survey sent out by SVT Sport, which was answered anonymously by 16 out of 19 national team skaters, half answered that they lack confidence in the national team management. Above all, they pointed to a lack of resources and a culture of silence.
– If you say something that is not within the framework, you feel that you are afraid of your own career, said one skater.
Now the ski association announces that they are taking a look at the alpine activities – after having done their own thorough mapping of the alpine part.
“For the past year, the Swedish Skiing Association has been working with an extensive knowledge base as a basis for a review of the alpine operations. There is a need for change and development,” the association writes, among other things.
Immediately leaves: “Would love to see her in a different role”
It is also announced that the alpine manager Karin Stolt Halvarsson and the alpine national team manager Lars Melin are leaving their posts.
Stolt Halvarsson leaves immediately.
– I would have liked to see her in a different role in the association, but have great understanding and respect for her choosing to move on at this stage. She will therefore leave the ski association, says Pernilla Bonde, general secretary of the Swedish Ski Association, in the press release.
Lars Melin will leave his position only after the new national team manager takes office and receives a handover.
SVT Sport is looking for Pernilla Bonde.
