This series, which ended on November 11, ended in a shocking way. And one of the scenes was particularly trying for the main actor.
Whether films or series, productions are always dictated by collective decisions. It is therefore not uncommon for an actor or actress not necessarily to be enthusiastic about a script or directing choice. This week, the main actor of one of the most commented series of the moment expressed his decided reaction to the finale of the program in which he stars.
Because The Penguin has indeed completed the broadcast of its first season on Max on November 11. And as Colin Farrell was able to reveal to Collider, one of the key scenes of this final episode was not easy to shoot. “I hated that scene,” he reacted to the American media. “I was so fucking pissed […] It was disgusting, cruel, completely crazy, I feel like Oz is reaching a point of no return,” he commented.
If you have not seen the series, and would like to discover it, we do not recommend reading the rest of this article. In the eighth episode, the protagonist murders Victor, the young boy he had decided to take under his wing at the very beginning of the season. Terrified at the idea that his enemies will use his loved ones against him, the Penguin therefore decides… to get rid of them himself.
Collider’s Colin Farrell analyzes this scene as the Batman villain proceeding to “commit this act without compunction, with absolute acceptance of why he is doing this.” However, the actor complied, not without rejection and apprehension. Either way, this explosive finale ends with the Penguin’s victory, but perhaps the intrigue doesn’t end there…
It is indeed not impossible that we meet the supervillain again in the sequel to The Batmanscheduled for September 2026. Initially reluctant to play the sequel, Colin Farrell is no longer opposed to the idea of a season 2 of The Penguin. However, this has not yet been made official. In the meantime, it is possible to find the eight episodes of the series on the Max streaming platform.
