Two people are dead after a boat crash at Walpole Island First Nation, provincial police say.

Emergency services, including OPP, Joint Rescue Co-ordination Center (JRCC) Trenton and the US Coast Guard responded to a single-vessel collision on Pocket Bay, on the First Nation’s west side near the Canada-US border, at 5:55 pm Saturday, Lambton OPP said.
“Two individuals were pronounced deceased at scene,” an OPP release said Sunday morning. Their names were not released.
Members of the OPP traffic incident management enforcement (TIME) team attended to assist with the investigation. On social media, police asked the public to avoid the area.

Man charged after GPS tampering tip
A man faces charges after police were notified of a possible lease violation via GPS monitor tampering Friday, Chatham-Kent police say.
Shortly after, a 911 call from an address in Charing Cross advised a man was acting disruptive in his residence, police said. He allegedly clashed with two people, broke a window and fled.
Officers found and arrested a suspect, police said.
A man, 43, is charged with two counts each of assault and failing to comply with a release order, and one count of mischief under $5,000, police said. He was held for a bail hearing.

A man faces impaired charges after vehicle left a road in Raleigh Township and struck three trees Friday. Chatham-Kent police say.
Believing the driver to be under the influence of alcohol, officers arrested a suspect and took them to police headquarters for breath testing, police said.
A Leamington man, 73, is charged with impaired driving and driving with blood alcohol over the legal limit, police said. He was released later with a short date.
