– The legend didn’t die to ruin Square Enix’s business/game. in the key 30fps is very bad by today’s standardssadly we are in the era of 60fps and up to 120fps. Overpriced for a game, do better. -5 points, the Steam point shopping element of this game is stupid, no one will buy the game and use their steam points to censor the legend wallpaper. Just like in the original gamethe voice actors’ quality of life has been improved, but not by much. -2 points to the gameplay overall. +3 points in total; 3/10. – This is Dragon Quest 3 with a fresh coat of paint. graphically it may be a remake, but it plays closer to the 1988 JRPG than the 2024 JRPG. Even graphically, I think it’s a big step down from other HD-2D games we’ve seen, like Octopath. It’s surprising that it doesn’t include some of the quality of life features we’ve come to expect from Square, like adjusting the random encounter rate. I can’t imagine most people will enjoy this, other than fans of the original and the niche hardcore old school audience. $60 seems like a slap in the face and I have no idea how this game took years to make. I definitely can’t recommend it, especially at full price. – jab011, 6/10
