This The Rookie star actually wanted to become a doctor

A star of The Rookie originally had completely different career plansto become an actor. This is none other than Eric Winter, who fans of the cop series know as the sarcastic Sergeant Tim Bradford.

Eric Winter once had completely different plans – which caught up with him in front of the camera

As the site Hello 2023 reported, the rookie star stated in an interview with Assignment X that his path was originally supposed to go in a completely different direction. So he got a degree in psychology from the University of California:

I haven’t had a scene as a doctor in action yet, but I have played doctors in the past and was actually an aspiring doctorgrowing up, I studied medicine, so I learned a lot and got a lot of the science behind it, so it’s something that attracts me.

Eric Winter didn’t end up in a hospital, but in front of the camera. However, fate would have it, that he was cast in the role of a doctor more than once: For example in the series Rosewood, The Good Doctor and Witches of East End.

For The Rookie fans, Eric Winter’s decision was a win

Eric Winter himself calmly accepts that his original career dream has been fulfilled to a certain extent through his roles:

Yes. I’ve done that too many times and now they don’t take me seriously anymore. When I did the movie The Naked Truth, I was also a doctor in that movie with Katherine Heigl and Gerry Butler. I had some nice moments being a doctor.

In this way, Eric Winter’s original career dream has been fulfilled on the screen in a certain way – albeit differently than expected.

Fans of The Rookie should be happy that the actor ended up in a certain police station in Los Angeles as of 2018. Here, as Sergeant Bradford, he regularly drives his colleague Officer Lucy Chen (Melissa O’Neil) crazy with a skillful mix of dry humor and stoic stubbornness – and is loved by fans for it.
