Hear the criticism from SVT Sports expert Lotta Björe and Peder Fredricson in the player above.
Only three crews made it through the World Cup jumping in Stuttgart flawlessly, none of them Swedish.
The world number one Henrik von Eckermann and the horse Calizi interrupted their ride already after a jump and impact.
– I had the entire course in front of me, and the course that was built today I could easily stand over, says von Eckermann.
Peder Fredricson got off to a better start than his national team colleague but fell victim to the track’s triple combination first, and when the ride was over the crew landed on a total of 25 faults.
– The time is too short, you can’t ride in a good rhythm. In a World Cup, you should be able to ride in a good way and think ahead, but you shouldn’t have to chase around, says Fredricson.
Fredricson leaves Stuttgart without World Cup points but is still in a good position overall in eleventh place with 21 points.
– We have learned a lot today, says assistant track builder Louis Konickx when he responds to the criticism.
Wilma Hellström best Swede
The best Swede was Wilma Hellström, who made her second World Cup start of the autumn. It was a setback for her and the horse Cicci, which resulted in a sixth place and eleven World Cup points.
– It required a lot from both rider and horse, says Hellström about the course.
The German Richard Vogel and the horse United Touch took home the season’s second World Cup victory in the jump-off. Vogel climbs to second overall behind leader Kevin Staut.
